Spiffy Little Man!

Last Saturday I got a call from my good friend, Cat. She said she was sorting through her three year old son's old clothes and found a few things she wanted Isaac to get some use out of. James's grandma's funeral was going to be that Tuesday, and I had nothing for Isaac to wear. As luck would have it, the clothes that Cat wanted Isaac to borrow were dressy! He looked soooo freakin' cute! Grandma Loverne would have LOVED it!

Cat let me look through some of MJ's old stuff while I was there, and I came away with a few pairs of PJs, some shoes, some other semi-dressy clothes (sweaters and button up shirts), and a Sioux sweatshirt, which as you can see, also looks extremely adorable on him (despite the bed head). He wore it while we were tailgating on Saturday. Love!

Thanks Cat!

Breaking Dawn & Farenheit 451

I finally finished the Twilight Saga! FINALLY.

If you remember my post in April about my New Year's resolution to read one book a month (you can find it here), which I failed by the way, you may be thinking, "I thought you were going to read Breaking Dawn in May?" And you'd be right. I was going to read it in May, but I was pretty bored with the last few Twilight books, and I sort of petered out. Then I saw all the Eclipse movie previews and felt like finishing.

I am SO glad I did! Breaking Dawn was by far the best out of the series. Seriously. I couldn't put this book down! Now I'm left craving more and there is no more! How cruel! (I apologize for my overuse of exclamation points.)

My good friend, Erica, just finished reading Eclipse, so we're going to see the movie tomorrow. I'm really excited! I heard it's a pretty good movie.

Another reason I'm looking forward to tomorrow is because I could use a girls night out! Especially after a weekend with the in-laws. James' parents came to visit this weekend. The plan was for James and his dad to install a new exterior door and a storm door. Unfortunately, his dad wasn't feeling well for the majority of Saturday (migraine, chills, upset stomach), and they didn't want to start the project if they couldn't finish it, so instead our new doors are leaning against the wall in the garage. Oh well, at least they got to see Isaac - that's really the important thing.

Don't get me wrong, I do like my in-laws. But sometimes, when other people (anyone, not just my in-laws) come into my house and do things their way, it can get on my nerves. It's nothing against them, it's just that sometimes I don't play well with others.

So, I'm excited to have dinner and a movie with a good friend! Woohoo!

And although I have failed my New Year's resolution, I still plan to continue reading. I only missed out on May and June. If I can read 10 books in a year, that's still probably a record for me!

Next up - Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. I've been reading it, off and on, for about two weeks now. I thought it would be a quick read, but things keep coming up and I'm not able to read as much as I'd like. I'm about half way through, and it's pretty good. The reason I chose Fahrenheit 451 (which by the way, is "the temperature at which book paper catches fire and burns..." That gives you a small clue as to what the book is about) is because last year I had to help a girl read it for school. I figured, if it's now required reading in high school, I should probably be familiar with it so I can help students with it. I read a little of it with that student last year, but I wanted to read it all rather than just bits and pieces. Plus, James owns it, so I figured I'd just read it really quick. A few good nights of solid reading and I should be able to finish it. It's definitely different than the stuff I usually read. A change is nice sometimes!

New Neighbors

Isaac and I met our new neighbors today! They moved about a month ago into the house two doors down. I saw some little kid toys in the yard, so I was hopeful that they would have a kid Isaac's age. Last night when I came home from my massage, I saw the little boy (who looked a little older than Isaac, but not much) outside with who I thought was his mom. So I grabbed the hubs and the munchkin and we walked over to say hi. Turns out it was the babysitter, but we did find out that the little boy's name is Eli and he just turned two.

So today I decided to take Isaac for a walk, and Eli was outside playing while his dad worked on some landscaping and his mom watched. We stopped by and introduced ourselves. They were very nice and seemed relatively normal! They seemed like they're in their late 20's, they have Eli who just turned two in June, and a baby on the way. They will be married for three years in August. They just moved here from Michigan because the husband got a job at UND as an aircraft mechanic. They said to stop over anytime and I extended the same offer. It's nice to have another young family in the neighborhood!

Roller Coaster

That is what my day was like - a roller coaster.

I'll start with the good stuff.

My four-day weekend has begun! There's no school on Good Friday or Easter Monday. James has to work this weekend (Sat-Sun), but he has Friday and Monday off, so I get to spend half of the long weekend with my boys! And tomorrow is James's morning to get up with Isaac, so I'll get to sleep in!

And the best news of the day is... I'm going to see John Mayer in concert next week!! He's going to be at the Fargodome and my friend, Gina, is going with me. I am so excited! I LOVE John Mayer! Granted, I am a little behind on his music simply because I don't own his newest CD yet, but I am going to buy it on iTunes as soon as I'm finished with this blog! Thursday is the day! Let the countdown begin!

Here's a little eye candy for ya.

Now for the not-so-good stuff.

James told me he might have to work on Mother's Day. Not just any Mother's Day, but my first Mother's Day. I was very disappointed. I guess I imagined that my first Mother's Day would be full of pampering and getting my way. :) It was disappointing to know that James thought it would be no big deal if he switched for that weekend. I let him know that I wouldn't be happy if he had to work that day. We'll see what happens. That kind of put a damper on my day though.

Then I went to one of our local middle schools to get homework for one of our students. One of the teachers who works there sends her kids to the same daycare that Isaac goes to. I see her almost every morning. Well, while I was at this school, I was standing right next to her for about 30 seconds in the office. I kept looking over at her, planning on saying "hi" when she looked at me. It never happened because she never even acknowledged me. I was standing right next to her. She knew I was there, yet she chose to ignore me. I was surprised, and not in a good way. It kind of put me in a bad mood. How difficult would it have been for her to glance at me and say hello? I mean, come on. It isn't as if she didn't know who I was. I guess seeing someone every single morning means absolutely nothing. Oh well. I guess I won't waste my time or energy being friendly anymore.

I also went shopping today. I'm planning on posting my deals, but I might wait until tomorrow because we just started watching Sherlock Holmes. My brother rented it and is letting us watch it before we have to return it. It's due tonight, so if we're going to watch it, we have to do it now. I'll probably post my shopping details tomorrow morning, or if I decide to stay up late (not likely) maybe even tonight.
